What to expect?
The following explains the general outline of the therapy processs
Contact us via Whatsapp, phone call or email to find out more information and set up an appointment if necessary
✓
✓
The next step is a parent interview, which takes place without the child present. This allows the occupational therapist to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child's developmental history, as well as your current concerns and goals for your child
Together, the therapist and parents will decide on the most appropriate assessment approach to best support your child and gain the information needed to proceed with therapy. The child will attend assessment sessions, where skills are observed and evaluated in a supportive and engaging environment
✓
✓
If it is determined that your child will benefit from occupational therapy, this will be discussed with you, and intervention can begin. Sessions are generally 30 to 45 minutes, once or twice a week. Sessions are play-based and engaging, and children tend to look forward to their sessions
✓
Ongoing feedback is provided to parents after sessions, with therapy goals reviewed and updated regularly. Practical strategies are also shared to support your child at home
✓
✓
The duration of therapy varies depending on each child's individual needs. Progress is continuously monitored and assessed, and this is discussed with parents throughout the therapy process
